A tongue-in-cheek look at the state and trends of today's televisions. ---------------------------
Televisions have come a long way since Scottish inventor, John Logie Baird, created the world's first working television system. Little did Baird know that he unwittingly also invented a whole new human culture called: watching TV.
In the past, people used to perform the activity of watching TV by sitting in front of bulky television boxes. Fast forward to today and people of the 21st century are STILL sitting in front of their televisions watching TV. You would think that mankind had not moved forward but there is progress! Instead of bulky boxes, televisions of today are sleek and thin. Thin televisions are all the rage these days. Nobody wants a fat television. If there was a contest where the prize was a fat television, no one would take part.

Upon receiving the keys to your new property, there will be a joint inspection of the property with the developer's representative. The purpose is to make a checklist of defects that will be rectified by the developer.
An example scenario goes like this:
- Owner is given a piece of paper (the defect checklist) to write down the defects.
- So Owner walks around, looks for defects ("ah...a crack") and jots down on the checklist.
- Owner gives the defect checklist to the representative.
- Owner hurries off to Ikea for shopping!
Sounds simple eh? Now, is this good enough?

RenoKu presents Starting and Planning Your Renovation - Part 2, the sequel to the wildly popular (what else?) Part 1. Part 1 was previously the most popular RenoKu article and was read by approximately 9.5 people from around the world. This strange figure occurred because one person only managed to read half of the article before the computer suddenly went up in smoke in a mysterious X-Files-like fashion.
The title of the most popular post has since gone to the MML Tile Estimator. Apparently, there are a whole lot of people out there most interested in counting tiles (a very strange phenomenon).
Continuing where Part 1 left off, this edition of Starting and Planning Your Renovation brings three more useful tips. Without further ado, let's read on!

Here in Malaysia, we are fortunate to have so many choices of timber to choose from. So much so, it can be confusing to differentiate one type of wood from the next. Fortunately, there are resources online where we can look for information. All thanks to Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor that has brought the country many benefits among which include isolating all IT geeks in a far flung place called Cyberjaya and bringing broadband to Malaysians in the form of Scream-max (which is what one does when their broadband internet connection goes down).
Oh where were we?
Ah! Wood.
Here is a summary of this post contents:
- Table showing timber strength, applications and moisture content
- Timber Verification Services
- Description of Commercial Malaysian Timber
- Showcase of Malaysian Hardwood Flooring

When considering an alarm system, do you look for alarm systems that can notify the owner(s) when the alarm is triggered? If the answer is no, what is the reason?
First, some background information. Alarm systems come in two kinds: monitored alarm systems and unmonitored alarm systems (Well, alarm systems can also be categorised as wired or wireless systems but that is another topic all together).

Using a shower with low water pressure is not fun. And if one is thinking of getting a shiny new rain shower, well, forget it. It's not going to work as advertised.
Normally when one thinks of fixing this problem, it is either to get a instant water heater with integrated pump (hmm... noisy) or to install a water pump (uh oh... expensive). Do you know that there is another way to get good water pressure? Furthermore, you might even save some money in the process.
Let's read on!
