It is the sign of times when one sees flower pots being designed to let their owners know how to take care of the plants. Unlike our forefathers who toiled in the fields, many of us modern day folks probably do not have much of a clue (nor the time) on how to take care of a plant.
Hence we earlier saw a digital pot that showed the plant's health using cute LCD icons. Now, another designer by the name of Samgmin Bae gives us his concept flower pot called Roly Poly Pot. This is one funny pot. When the plant is thirsty, the pot tumbles over!
I am not kidding! The tagline for the Roly Poly Pot goes: "A pot that tumbles over when the plant is thirsty".

The Star has an article entitled Taking the chore out of gardening. The article mentions that Sesama Ventures has opened Secretani Green Stations in Kuantan Parade and Tesco Ampang. The company will have kiosks in all Tesco outlets nationwide by the end of August. The Green Station is a one-stop gardening kiosk selling plants and tools as well as the company's eco-friendly fertiliser and growth enhancer called Secretani.
Here is an extract from the article: Secretani was researched and developed in Japan but it has been localised and is manufactured in Malaysia. It can be used for both decorative plants and vegetables, and comes in a convenient spray can; more than 10,000 bottles have been sold. It helps keep away pests and mosquitoes and can be used for houseplants.

The humble flower pot used to be a boring affair. Things are changing though. First, we saw an intelligent pot with a LCD screen. Now, here comes a flower pot that glows in the dark! And its eco friendly to boot.

For some of us, it can be tough to take care of a plant. How much to water, how much sunlight it needs? And if the plant ends up dried and shriveled, we give up and get an artificial replacement.
Designer Junyi Heo must have heard our woes and realised that there must be a better way to improve plant-human communications. Hence, an intelligent pot by the name of Pet Plant/Digital Pot.
