Longing to rejuvenate your home but lacking time and money? StyleAtHome.com has come up with 10 quick ways to do a home makeover. Check out some of their suggestions:
Light up your life New lighting not only modernizes a space but also helps items in a room sparkle and shine. "For kids' rooms, there are great new chrome and glass fixtures that look like trains, planes or helicopters," says Cohn. "It could also be fun to hang a sparkly chandelier in the bathroom." If your lighting fixtures are keepers, make sure you're using the proper bulbs and wattage - most people don't, notes Cohn.
Use your food When flowers are scarce in the wintertime, go to your refrigerator and pull out colourful fruit or vegetables and place them in a beautiful clear glass bowl. If you're having people over, group breads of different textures, like pumpernickel and raisin, on a nice serving plate and place it with a few pretty dishes and cutlery in the middle of a dining table or on a sideboard. "It gives the feeling that you're welcome into my home."
Rearrange furniture Create a whole new feeling by moving around significant pieces. "Try angling a sofa instead of placing it straight on a wall, or make a conversation area if it doesn't exist - put sofas facing each other, or a couple of chairs facing a sofa," suggests Cohn. She also suggests turning the dining table the other way if the space allows. Or in the bedroom, try moving the bed into the centre of a room or under a window.

CloveTWO features a duplex unit in Emerald Perdana condo, Damansara Perdana. An extract from the article: Cheng's quirky sense of humour is apparent in the small plaque that says "Born free, Now I'm expensive" and a tilted green bowl that has "Vacation Money" on it. A red bowling pin is an ashtray. Three small translucent glass plaques with tea lights, placed in front of the plasma TV, are a summary of life: "Laugh", the Yin-Yang symbol, and "Clarity".

If you are renovating your new home, you probably would have to decide on what colours to choose. As some of you might attest, this is not an easy task. Paint color chart in one hand, should the wall be in Peach Chiffon or Frosted Dawn?
According to colour psychologist, Karen Kow, the managing director of Colours In Motion Sdn Bhd, colour could make or break the feel and value of a property. In an article in The Star, she says: “Many people have difficulty picking the right colours for their home. Some have a good idea of how they would like their room to look like but they may end up with mix-match of everything”
She added that many people were not very adventurous with colours and still kept the builder's white after many years.
Colours In Motion Sdn Bhd specialises in providing colour consultation to homeowners, interior designers, renovators, property investors and commercial property owners.
An interesting point was ... research showed that people made a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or product within 90 seconds of initial viewing and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment was based on colour alone.
Since colours used for a product, website, business card and a logo could cause powerful reactions, choosing the right colours is critical to successful sales.
