If you are renovating your new home, you probably would have to decide on what colours to choose. As some of you might attest, this is not an easy task. Paint color chart in one hand, should the wall be in Peach Chiffon or Frosted Dawn?
According to colour psychologist, Karen Kow, the managing director of Colours In Motion Sdn Bhd, colour could make or break the feel and value of a property. In an article in The Star, she says:
“Many people have difficulty picking the right colours for their home. Some have a good idea of how they would like their room to look like but they may end up with mix-match of everything”
She added that many people were not very adventurous with colours and still kept the builder's white after many years.
Colours In Motion Sdn Bhd specialises in providing colour consultation to homeowners, interior designers, renovators, property investors and commercial property owners.
An interesting point was
... research showed that people made a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or product within 90 seconds of initial viewing and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment was based on colour alone.
Since colours used for a product, website, business card and a logo could cause powerful reactions, choosing the right colours is critical to successful sales.

Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ): Home Extensions.
Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ): House renovation procedure.
Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL).
MPSJ’s definition of proper building extensions or renovation:
- Any demolition work done to the original building
- Any extension work done to the original building (enlarging floor area)
- Any renovation work done to the internal building layout
- Construction of car porch, fencing wall, and waste chamber.
- Any other extension or renovation as prescribed in Act 133, Road, Drainage, and Buildings Act 1974

Before you spill your morning drink over the absurdness of this product announcement, this photo is a fake. Even the logo is wrong.
Of course, if this really happened, the rich would have to come up with a way to prevent people from stealing their designer garbage bags.

It is the sign of times when one sees flower pots being designed to let their owners know how to take care of the plants. Unlike our forefathers who toiled in the fields, many of us modern day folks probably do not have much of a clue (nor the time) on how to take care of a plant.
Hence we earlier saw a digital pot that showed the plant's health using cute LCD icons. Now, another designer by the name of Samgmin Bae gives us his concept flower pot called Roly Poly Pot. This is one funny pot. When the plant is thirsty, the pot tumbles over!
I am not kidding! The tagline for the Roly Poly Pot goes: "A pot that tumbles over when the plant is thirsty".
