Picture this. You are sound asleep. Suddenly, RINGGG!!! It is that **** alarm clock/mobile phone again and it is telling you to wake up. According to a survey conducted by Philips, nine out of ten consumers admitted to hitting the snooze button on their alarm clock before being able to get themselves up and out of bed.
If you are longing to a gentler start of the day, you will be happy to know that Philips has created a device called the Wake-up Light. Curious? Then read on.
From Philips explanation, the Wake-up Light is a dawn simulator designed to gently wake the body the way nature intended - with light. From half an hour before your required wake-up time, the Philips Wake-up Light starts emitting light which gradually increases in intensity, simulating the rising sun in your bedroom. Your body will be gently prepared to wake-up so you feel refreshed and more alert when you finally open your eyes. If that was not enough, the Wake-up Light also incorporates three natural sounds (birds in the forest, sounds of the African jungle and soft chimes in the wind).
The Philips Wake-up Light costs about USD$120 in the United States. However, the Wake-up Light is not listed in Philips Malaysia's website so those interested to obtain one should contact Philips and let them know that Malaysians want a gentler way to wake up in the mornings too.

Nothing separates the generations more than music. By the time a child is eight or nine, he has developed a passion for his own music that is even stronger than his passions for procrastination and weird clothes. - Bill Cosby
