For some of us, it can be tough to take care of a plant. How much to water, how much sunlight it needs? And if the plant ends up dried and shriveled, we give up and get an artificial replacement.
Designer Junyi Heo must have heard our woes and realised that there must be a better way to improve plant-human communications. Hence, an intelligent pot by the name of Pet Plant/Digital Pot.
This pot is designed to take out the guesswork of knowing what is best for the plant by measuring soil conditions, temperature, humidity and water; basically all the stuff a healthy plant needs. The results of all these data is summarized and shown on the pot's LCD display.

Now, showing just raw data like humidity and temperature would not do much good to us who do not have a green thumb (or a related PhD). Imagine a display that shows: Humidity 50% ... Temperature 30 celsius, etc. After all, all we want to know whether the plant is happy or not.
Our creative designer has certainly done his homework. The pot's LCD displays the plant's condition through a set of easy-to-understand expressive icons. It's like gardening for dummies. There's an icon for Danger, More water and curiously ... male and female icons?
Another clever feature of this pot is that it can drain itself into a water vessel if it is over watered. Furthermore, it comes with a USB interface that allows the pot to charge and transmit plant related information to your computer. Neat!
No word yet on where to buy this though.
